I paint from an image, so the photo of your pet needs to be high resolution, clear, and taken in good lighting. The background is not important since I don’t include it. We can look through your photos together to select the best one if you are not sure which one to use.
I prefer to paint portraits with only your pet’s face and a little chest showing. I am open to painting a full body, but the price will change due to extra content.
I understand that getting the perfect photo can be hard, especially if a beloved pet has passed. If this is the case, I can work from multiple photos. For example, one photo can help with the pose, and another can help with detail and color.
Some helpful tips and tricks ;)
Portraits: Take the photo showing their face and chest
Full body: Important to make sure their face is in focus
Take the photo at eye level rather than looking down at the pet
Make sure your photo is clear and in focus
Take the photo in natural lighting (a well-lit room or outside)
Take the photo on a good phone or camera
Make sure you send me the original photo
All prices include tax and shipping (US only).
